How therapy works.
Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s broken. You must feel what you've been avoiding to heal the stuck parts. Feel to heal, as I like to say.

In our sessions, we’ll gently notice your thoughts, emotions, and body responses, and explore how they’re connected.
We’ll look at behaviors and thoughts that once kept you safe but now feel limiting, and practice new ways of being that bring more calm and clarity.

My role is to walk beside you with warmth, humor, and evidence-based tools. I'll help you build steadiness and trust in your own inner world.
I invite you to embark on a journey within yourself.
I’d be honored to walk beside you.
What guides my work.

Questions you might have.
Q:
What if I don’t know what to talk about?
That’s completely okay. We can start wherever you are, even with the silence or confusion. Your body's wisdom will guide us on your timeframe and we will honor the experience.
Q:
How long does therapy take?
There’s no fixed timeline. Some people come for a few months, others for a longer journey. We’ll find a rhythm that fits your needs and goals. Intensives are a great way to move through the work at a pace that will lower the overall commitment and will find relief sooner. Intensive do mean intense and is not suitable for every condition.
Q:
What does Somatic EMDR Mean?
Somatic means body symptoms. Somatic EMDR combines standard EMDR (memory reprocessing with bilateral stimulation) with body‑based/sensation awareness so you process traumatic memories while also tracking and regulating bodily sensations, helping the nervous system complete what was left ‘stuck’ after trauma.
Q:
Do you offer online sessions?
No. You are welcome to book an extended weekend session or 3+ hour sessions if you'd like to drive to San Diego. The work we do is intense and often needs co-regulation that I feel more comfortable having a full view of your body when doing our work safely. Weekend sessions available.
